One way to improve your resume nowadays is to look into the many exams being offered online on various skill topics.
The two main ones I have seen personally are Brainbench and Expertrating.
There are a bunch of smaller ones but you can pick whichever really meets your requirement quickly..
Brainbench also has specialization packages, so if you want to be a product manager, you would take exams around that topic to get a formal certificate in product management and so on. This can be very useful to boost your resume but its not anywhere close to a degree to begin with.
I have also seen one called Alison which offers the course for free online but charges some money to get the real diploma, so in real terms they are not cheaper than brainbench or expertrating when you compare the cost and contents. One advise is to take the free classs from Alison or similar then take the brainbench exams.
Get your google or bing skills going and check these exams out. While I am not preaching this approach but if you had decided to get a life experience degree maybe these exams could help to make sure your skills are validated in the field chosen.
